Toy Story 5 teaser trailer introduces a new tech villain

A teaser trailer for the upcoming Toy Story 5 movie has been released, and it looks like Woody, Buzz, and the gang will have to face a brand new tech villain.

The 50 second clip poses the question, ‘is the age of toys over?’, as we see Bonnie receive a mysterious package in the post. All of our favourite characters are cowering in fear as Bonnie prepares to open the parcel, including Rex, Slinky, Mr and Mrs Potato Head, Forky, and Jessie.

The new danger to the group is then revealed as Lilypad, a frog-shaped, high-tech smart tablet. There may be trouble ahead as the gang’s jobs are made exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.

Tom Hanks returns as everyone’s favourite cowboy Woody, with Tim Allen and Joan Cusack reporting for duty as Buzz Lightyear and Jessie respectively. Greta Lee joins the cast as the mysterious Lilypad, whilst Conan O’Brien will also be joining the voice cast as the toilet training tech toy, Smarty Pants.

Toy Story 5 is directed by Academy Award® winner Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris, and produced by Lindsey Collins.
