Princess Diana's Haunting Regret She Shared Days Before Her Tragic Death

Princess Diana‘s tragic death still shakes the world to its core… And now, nearly three decades later, we’re finding out more about how she felt leading up to that horrible day.

Back in 1997, per what her close friend Rosa Monckton told People on Monday, Diana traveled to Greece in August for a vacation. Sadly, this would be the last time the Princess of Wales would have some quality time with Rosa. During their trip, the Baroness said her conversation with the Princess turned to that of her infamous 1995 Panorama interview.

In case you need a refresher, this was THAT iconic interview where Diana opened up about her husband’s cheating, her own struggles with self harm and bulimia, as well as her issues with the royal family. It became a real staple in her legacy — but according to Rosa, it was also her biggest regret.

She told the outlet:

“[Diana] told me she regretted doing it because of the harm she thought it had done to her boys.”

Aww… This is so like Diana, always thinking of her precious sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, able everything else. It’s not surprising at all to hear this, but it’s SO sad.

Rosa went on to add that Diana was very “susceptible” to the Panorama journalist Martin Bashir because she’d “kept [all her feelings] in”:

“She was frail and that made her susceptible to Bashir … He’d told her she couldn’t talk about it. She cut people out because of that.”

Of course, this ties into the 2021 scandal that alleges Bashir forged documents and manipulated the royal family to gain access to the Princess for the interview.

It’s so sad to hear all this, but in the end, it shows Diana’s heart was always in the right place — with her children. Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
