Kate Finally Addresses Rumors Her Blonde Hair Was a Wig After Report She’s Still ‘Not Back to Normal’ Post-Cancer

Kate Middleton made a rare comment about her hair months after her drastic hair transformation. The Princess of Wales made headlines when she went blonde in September, and subsequently changed it back. Now, we finally know the reason why her hair got lighter.

At the Royal Variety Show on Nov. 19, Su Pollard complimented the princess: “I like your hair, it looks a lot lighter,” to which Kate replied: ‘It used to be brown, but it’s gone light in the sunshine.”

Royal sources told The Daily Mail that the brand-new look was due to her vacation time. “After a sun-soaked holiday in Greece, Kate returned not only with a refreshed spirit but also with naturally lightened hair,” expert Sarah Gadston said. “The combination of sea air, sunshine, and saltwater had gently lifted her hair to a softer shade—creating the perfect starting point for her next salon visit.”

When Kate Middleton debuted her new hairdo in September, many royal fans were confused and theorized that it might be a wig. “Are we supposed to believe this is Kate’s ‘natural hair’⁉️ — call me crazy, but this looks like a #Wig to me‼️🤷🏻‍♀️🔍🔍🔍🤭,” one person wrote on X. Other people wrote their thoughts on the matter, “I hope this is a wig because Kate Middleton’s new look is just plain awful.”

RadarOnline reported later the Princess of Wales was “shaken to her core” by the reaction to her blonde locks and the “cancer wig” suggestions. “This has been a very tough time for Kate,” a source said. “She returned from the summer prepared to face the cameras again, but the harshness of the remarks really unsettled her. The suggestion that her hair was tied to her illness struck her particularly hard.”

“Behind closed doors, she’s still struggling emotionally and tires a lot more easily; it’s taking longer to readjust to royal life after her cancer treatment,” a palace insider claimed to RadarOnline

This all comes after last year, after her remission was announced, a family friend made sure to point out that she “is not back to normal,” but there are signs of “light at the end of the tunnel.”
