The whole Andrew scandal has calmed down a little bit after the former prince was stripped of his titles and ordered to leave his home at Royal Lodge. But with new revelations expected, and Andrew being banished to Sandringham, where the royal family hopes he will disappear from public life for good, where do his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, stand?
Reportedly, the King wants to protect and support both of them and is considering giving them occasional royal duties to showcase his support, according to Vanity Fair. “It was something that was being looked at before recent events but despite what has happened with Andrew, it’s not off the cards,” a royal source told the publication. “Whatever people might think of Andrew, the girls are kind, hardworking and want to help if they can.”

Last week, Princess Eugenie was announced to be with the King’s Foundation as a mentor. The Princess attended a mentoring reception in London, where one source said, “She was so excited to be there and seemed very proud to have been asked.”
After King Charles stripped his brother of his titles, the reports were that he didn’t want it to affect Beatrice and Eugenie. “There was no deal struck about the future for Beatrice and Eugenie; they are private individuals in that respect, but there have been talks for some time about using them when and if there is a need. For their part, they have let it be known that they are more than willing to do public duties if and when they can to support the king,” a source said.
Reportedly, however, not all members of the royal family feel this way. Prince William is said to have been upset that his father recently approved a new patronage for Princess Beatrice at the Outward Bound Trust. Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop reported that William is “strongly opposed” to his cousins being involved in royal matters, saying it’s “too soon” and “too risky.”
“William wanted the Yorks out of sight until after the King’s next health review,” a source said. “But His Majesty insisted—he thinks the family needs to heal in public.” Another source explained, “William’s pragmatic. He knows the Yorks are poison with the public. His father just won’t see it.”
And reportedly, the issues between William and the sisters have to do with the way it all went down with Andrew. The National Examiner reported that Beatrice and Eugenie weren’t pleased at being used to force their father to give up his own titles and vacate Royal Lodge, and have resorted to “trash-talking” their cousin.
“These bad feelings towards William will do them no good in the long run, but right now, the emotion is running sky-high,” an insider said. “They can’t help themselves. At the end of the day, they’re their parents’ daughters, very headstrong and defiant, and that’s really coming to the fore.”
So, basically, some relationships are good. Others, not so good.
