Brooke Sutton/Getty ImagesRookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was impressive in his NFL debut, leading the Cleveland Browns over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Shedeur led the Browns to a 24-10 victory over the Raiders in his first start as quarterback. He became the first Browns starting quarterback with a win in his debut game since 1999.
The fifth round draft pick got his first start after quarterback Dillon Gabriel suffering a mild concussion in week 11.
Shedeur’s first NFL touchdown pass came late in the 4th quarter. He threw a pass to rookie running back Dylan Sampson who scampered 66 yards to the end zone.

President Donald Trump wrote “I told you so!” after the game.
“Shedeur Sanders was GREAT,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social app. “Wins first game, career start, as a pro. Great Genes. I TOLD YOU SO!”
Trump rooted for Shedeur when NFL owners bypassed him during the 2025 NFL Draft.
“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” Trump posted on Truth Social on Day 2 of the NFL draft. “He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”
Shedeur’s proud father, Deion Sanders wrote on X (Twitter): “JESUS JESUS JESUS! Thank u Thank u Thank u. Regardless of how it looks I know what it is. #CoachPrime #DAD.”

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith warned Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski that there will be “mutiny” in Cleveland if he doesn’t name Shedeur as the starting QB next week.
Stefanski refused to answer questions from reporters about the starting QB next week.
On Monday’s episode of “First Take,” Smith warned, “There’s no way [he] could get away with not starting Shedeur Sanders. Cleveland, they’ll have mutiny in that city if they don’t put Shedeur Sanders back out there behind center this coming weekend.”
